5 things that can cause your tattoo to fade
There are so many reasons for tattoo fading such as improper care, skin quality, what colour, brand, the quality of ink, amount of sun exposure. I’ve written 5 things that can cause a tattoo to fade over time.
1. Sun damage
UV rays from the sun can damage your tattoo, whether fresh or healed tattoo. You should stay out of the sun until your tattoo has completely healed. If you want to keep your tattoo looking dark or vibrant for a long time, you should apply sunscreen to the area before going in the sun and avoid direct sunlight.
2. Skin dehydrated
The best way to keep your tattoo looking vibrant/bright is keeping your tattoo moisturized. If your tattoo starts getting cracked, It might be possible that your skin dehydrated. Use lotion on your tattoo every day and drink plenty of water to keep your skin hydrated and prevent tattoo fading.
3. Low-quality ink
Low quality ink will fade your tattoo away faster and it will not usually last as long as high quality, highly concentrated ink. Bad ink can damage your skin. You can be infected if you are allergic to some components. Please make sure the ink before getting your tattoo to ask your artist what ink or brand they will be using on your skin. Good and well trained artist will always be ready to help you with details.
4. Bright ink
The bright colours certainly will fade faster than darker colours if you don’t take good care. The reason tattoos fade is because of improper care, what colour you choose, how much you are exposed to the sun, how well you protect it. You should be careful about what colour you choose and take good care of your tattoo to make them last as long as possible. Choose a design that uses plenty of dark colours to prevent tattoo blowout.
5. Inexperienced artist
The process of making this body art, the artist will puncture the skin with a needle and inject the ink by hand. The ink must be inserted into the second layer of skin or dermis just below epidermis. An experienced artist will insert the ink into the correct skin layer. If the ink only injected into the top layer of skin (epidermis) or it goes too deep, the ink will blowout throughout the layers of the skin. Choosing the right artist is not an easy thing. Please do enough research beforehand to make sure you choose the best one.
